Player Comments:

  • "I've got no words for this match, the result says it all! Over 3hrs match time and over an hour a set. John can hit some heavy top spin crosscourt forehands that can kick up off the court. I enjoyed every minute of it and John is a great guy to play tennis with"  -- Danny
  • "An absolute roller coaster ride of a tennis match, every set was like a match in itself! Always an enjoyable and challenging match against Danny who's consistency and precision in his shot making make for great matches. Hope to play again soon (once I feel I can face another marathon!)." -- John

Player Comments:

  • "Two very close competitive sets against Dave this evening, the second set especially which went to 4-4 before I managed to get a late break to take the set and the match. Dave hit powerful winners on both sides (especially on his double backhand, where I basically didn't even move for them!). A really enjoyable match and hope to play again in the future."  -- John

Player Comments:

  • "Great to meet and play Reece today, the first set was a mixture of me starting quite well and Reece starting a bit slow I think, there were some long games but I was just a bit more consistent. The second set was much closer and at 4-4 could of gone either way (I was dreading a 3rd as we played indoors and it was like an oven! - anybody that has played me knows I get quite hot!), however at 4-4 I managed to get the break and take the set. Reece was much more consistent in the second set and chased a lot of shots down and hit some great forehands himself. Thanks for the match Reece and hope to play again soon."  -- John
Reveal CommentJohn Tickle bt Brian Bontrager (Aug 30) 6-2, 6-3

Player Comments:

  • "Great to meet up and play against Brian again (it's been a few years). I started off well and managed to get a good lead in the first set and see it out (not something I've always managed to do against Brian!), in the second set it was much closer with longer rallies and good winners from both of us, at 3-3 I managed to get a break of serve and was then able to close the match out. Thanks for the game and definitely meet up for more matches in the future. "  -- John

  • "Great game against Tom yesterday! Unfortunately, we had to split the game in 2 different days which is never fair as we'll never know how it would have ended up if we could've played the entire game in one day. We both tried to play aggressively and hit loads of winners. I was a little bit more consistent this time and that was what made the only difference. It was great catching-up and looking forward to playing again! "  -- Francisco

Player Comments:

  • "Was a really enjoyable match against Chris this morning. The weather just about held out long enough for us to play the match! Lots of breaks of serve in the first set, which I was just about able to take. The second set was a lot cleaner from both of us, and I was able to get a break towards the end to get the win. Looking forward to playing Chris again soon!"  -- Adam

  • "Brilliant match this past Sunday against Fran. Our playstyles lead to some interesting rallies and it could have gone either way in the end. Fran played an incredible tiebreak to win the first set, and thankfully I was able to get out of some tricky situations in the second and third sets. Can't wait to play again!"  -- Adam

Player Comments:

  • "It was nice catching up with Ben. We had a good battle in the first game of both sets with several deuces which this time I managed to get my way. Ben wasn’t very consistent with his serve which gave me several free points from double fouls. I’m sure next time our game will be much more tight. "  -- Francisco

I look forward to playing Tom again, as it's always a great test of my game and our matches are always enjoyable."  -- Adam
Reveal CommentAdam Ogburn bt BENJAMIN WONG (Aug 30) 6-2, 6-2

Player Comments:

  • "Had a great match with Ben this evening. The sets were much closer than it appears and it was only really the double faults on Ben's serve that stopped it from being a lot closer. Always great to play against a fellow single handed backhand as well! Thanks for the game Ben, I look forward to playing you again soon."  -- Adam
Reveal CommentAdam Ogburn bt Kieran Wallace (Aug 28) 4-6, 7-6 (7-5), 6-3

Player Comments:

  • "Great match today, though we both had moments of good and poor play. Kieran started a lot better in the first set, while the second set was a bit more scrappy. The momentum I had from saving a couple of match points in the second set carried me through in the third. Every match we play tends to go the distance, and I'm hoping we have many more classics in the future. "  -- Adam
Reveal CommentTom Siemianowski bt BENJAMIN WONG (Aug 26) 6-2, 6-4

Player Comments:

  • "Had a great match with Ben today with plenty of good rallies. Ben was unlucky at times with hitting double faults at crucial times but his overall game has improved a lot recently! Good luck for the rest of the round mate :)"  -- Tom
