Thanks to everyone who got involved in another excellent round in Battersea. There was a good number of matches played and some fantastic performances from both new and returning players throughout the groups - hope you enjoyed it. We look forward to seeing you all next time for much more tennis now the summer season is on it's way.
Group Summary:
It was a case of deja vu for Alex who for the second round in a row finishes with five wins and bonus points under his belt to top the table and add the group one title to his name. There was little to choose between Andreas and Guy in the race for the silver, and therefore their head to head comes into play. Andreas eventually won this marathon "duel of the big hitters" 6-3, 3-6, 7-6 to secure the runner up spot.

All this effort paid off as Joao finishes on pole position thanks to four hard victories and bonus points to boot. Doug found his best form when he needed it to defeat fellow title challengers Andy and Daniel over three tight sets and finishes with a superb six wins under his belt to clinch the gold. In another " highly competitive match" that went the distance Andy beat Daniel to claim the runner up spot.

A dream debut for Alex who showed all the fighting qualities of a champion to record a full house of wins and with bonus points in the bag too he takes the title in style. Michal came "about as close as it gets" to defeating Alex in their exhausting head to head and taking home the prize, but ultimately has to settle for second place this time. Well done to Richard and Rohan too for making it onto court for six matches.

Group Summary:
It doesn't get much closer than this, James, Zied and Charlotte all finish level on eight points with four wins under their belts. Unfortunately we didn't see all the head to heads played so some number crunching is required to determine the new champ. After the eliminator method is applied, it is left to James and Zied to fight it out for top spot thanks to fewest sets conceded on average per match. Now we did see a match between James and Zied and it was James who found that extra gear to emerge with a convincing victory. Well played all.

A round of applause to Paul and James who played out the match of the round, an incredible 7-6, 6-7, 7-6 encounter that was eventually won by Paul but it's " a shame there can only be one winner". James didn't let the disappointment of losing this close match effect his tennis as finished with four wins and bonus points to top the podium. Paul also notched up four victories and takes home the satisfaction of being unbeaten in what was an impressive display to secure second place. A shame to see Varun withdraw - hope you're ok.
