It has been a good round with some close matches and we do hope you have all enjoyed it.

Thank you all for supporting the league. We are, as ever, very grateful for the hard work you put in scheduling your matches and for your efforts on court.
The next round starts soon on Monday November 14 and runs until January 22.

Many thanks to all those who have already joined, and if you haven’t, but would like to, the deadline is Friday November 11. As usual players who have done well will be promoted (usually the winner of a group, butoften the runner up too when it has been close).

GROUP ONE
Winner: Guillaume Barbalat
Guillaume finished the round with a 100% record, prevailing in all four of his matches, and he didn't drop a set throughout. Mark picked up a couple of victories to take the runners-up spot, while Alfredo and Damoun each won a match. Robert was the only played aside from Guillaume to remain unbeaten, and he may have challenged at the top had he been able to play more matches. Guillaume is a worthy winner though, and he is now the man to beat in Paddington!

GROUP TWO
Winner: Mike Douglas
In an exciting finale, Mike takes group two by just a couple of points from Geraint. In their encounter early on in the group, Geraint won in straight sets, which seemed to make him early favourite. However, Mike recovered superbly, winning his next five matches, and he was also aided by Matt's excellent win over Geraint. Crucially, Mike beat Matt in three great sets, meaning no player finished the round unbeaten. A really evenly matched group, and we hope to see you all back next time.

GROUP THREE
Winner: Charlie Bryan
In a quiet group, Charlie and Sebastian dominated proceedings, between them winning all four completed matches. Both men finished on 5 points, and in the end it came down to the result of their match against each other. Fittingly, it was a classic, Charlie recovering from a set down to win in three. Even to the end though, it seemed that Sebastian would take the group on account of playing an extra match - however, Charlie managed to take a set in an unfinished match against Nancy, and that proved enough to regain top spot.

GROUP FOUR
Winner: Alastair Noble
Another group in which no player remained unbeaten, and that is always a sign of a competitive and evenly matched group. Alastair wins it by just a single point from both Lance and Jaydeep. After losing to Jaydeep early on, Alastair went on a four match winning streak, including victories over Joseph and Lance, the latter in three epic sets. Lance beat Jaydeep in another three-setter, meaning the top three all won one and lost one against each other. Elsewhere, Joseph beat Klearchos in another great deciding set match. Congratulations to Alastair, a tremendous effort to come out on top of such a tight group.

The winners will be receiving their £20 prizes and certificates and we do hope to welcome you all back next time.
