And the winners are...
GROUP ONE: WINNER: Jackson Pauls. Jackson is a veteran of the Meadows League and was a winner (in Group 3) way back in Round 1. But this autumn he was invincible, dropping his only set to Miguel – Miguel duly came in second, just pipping John to the runner’s up position. Well done to Jackson who not only notched up great wins, but managed to play plenty of matches.
GROUP TWO: WINNER Frank Broderick. What can you say? Six wins, bonus points and only one set conceded. A fantastic run for Frank who has played since the first round but never won his group before. And it wasn’t a breeze this time either – Will Arbuckle took Frank to three sets and if John had got more matches in, maybe the eventual result could have been close. In the end though there is nothing else to say but well done Frank!
GROUP THREE; WINNER David Wood.. . The battle of the round! David just squeaks his victory, but it is no less deserved for that. With one more win than runner up Nicol (who tied on points), and no need to rely on his bonus points, David – who has also played since Round 1 - records his first group victory in the Meadows Tennis League. Well played David, but acknowledgement too to everyone else in this tight-fought group.
GROUP FOUR; WINNER Neil Gallagher... In a group where matches were hard to come by (thank you to everyone who did manage to play) Neil played more matches than anyone else and won them all. It will be fascinating to see how he does in higher groups!
