THE HENLEY & MARLOW TENNIS LEAGUE

Friendly, competitive tennis for adult players in Henley, Marlow and Wycombe area of Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire - And you don't have to be a member of a club!

Before you get playing!
New members are welcome to join at any point, but you will need to wait till the start of the next round before you can start playing. 
There are four rounds a year of singles, so you shouldn't have to wait long.
This is a mixed singles league, (with mixed doubles also offered)
It’s divided into groups of about 6 players of a similar standard
Everyone in their group plays everyone else on Highbury Fields unless another venue suits both parties
Matches are the best of three tie break sets (allow 2 hours per match)
It’s up to everyone to arrange their own matches
You get one point for every set you win.
At the end of the round, the top one or two players go up to the next group, and the bottom one
or two go down.
You get a free can of balls and two bonus points if you complete three matches by the half way point.
Everyone who wins their group wins a bottle of champagne and one of our mighty fine certificates.

This league offers a way to compete, improve and play more. Run in association with Tennis Angels adult players of all standards are warmly invited to join. 

How to start playing
We hope to run four 8-week rounds a year. For the dates, just see top left.

  • This is a mixed singles league, (mixed doubles may also be offered at a future date depending on demand). For the first round, a ladies singles option is also available (see Join Now and current round pages)
  • Players are divided into groups of 6-8 players of a similar standard. Everyone in their group plays everyone else on any suitable court including, if you are lucky enough to have one, your own (see courts and booking page)!
  • Matches are the best of three tie -break sets (allow 2 hours per match)
  • Players arrange their own matches and you get one point for every set you win.
  • At the end of the round, the top one or two players go up and the bottom oneor two go down.
  • You get a FREE can of balls and two bonus points if you complete three matches by the half way point.
  • WINNERS of each group WIN £20 and one of our mighty fine certificates.
  • Entry to a round costs just £12
