An impressive 76% of all possible matches were played this round, and there were some very close groups to keep things exciting!

Thank you all for supporting the league. We are, as ever, very grateful for the hard work you put in scheduling your matches and for your efforts on court.

The next round starts soon on Monday November 21 and runs until January 29.

Many thanks to all those who have already joined, and if you haven’t, but would like to, the deadline is Friday November 18. As usual players who have done well will be promoted (usually the winner of a group, butoften the runner up too when it has been close).

And now, on to the groups...

GROUP ONE
Winner: Ibrahim Mahdi
Ibrahim won all three of his matches to take group one, and he had to come through tough matches against Stuart and Zachary. Defending champion Chris finished with the same record, but his lack of bonus points proved crucial, and unfortunately they were unable to fit in their match to decide the group. Nevertheless, it is a worthy win for Ibrahim, who impressed throughout. Elsewhere, Zachary wrote in after a gruelling win over Robin:
"I won 7-6 (7-5), 7-6 (9-7). A very close match, as the scoreline indicates. Robin's superb groundstrokes were let down by his uneven serving, I had some good moments on my serve to squeeze through."
Some excellent matches in this group!

GROUP TWO
Winner: Marek Siska
Impressively, every single match was completed in this group, and Marek comes out on top after winning all 4 of his matches. He was pushed very hard by runner-up Nigel, and had to come from a set down before winning in three. Nigel picked up 3 victories of his own, while Tom won a couple to finish third. Aaron beat James in a wonderful three-setter, but the final word should go to Marek (because he praises us!):
"I wanted to thank you for organising the league. I think you're doing a good job and I will definitely sign up again."

The winners will be receiving their £20 prizes and certificates and we do hope to welcome you all back next time. Qualifying matches will be reported to the LTA for the next ratings run (you can see more information on this on our website here.)
