Round 4 of the combined Bush Hill and Broomfield Parks Tennis League
The round runs from Thursday 27th January to Sunday 27th March 2011.

Bush Hill and Broomfield parks came together for this smallish winter-into -spring round - but the meeting of players produced some excellent tennis, and lots  of it too. In group one 80% of all possible matches were played, and in group two, not that many fewer (once you take into account injuries). Many thanks for all your hard scheduling work!

We do hope you will return for the next Round which starts hot on the heals of this one on May 9th.  For now at least, the parks will be going their separate ways again, so chose the league that is closest or most convenient for you.

GROUP ONE
Winner: Sam Oestreicher

Last round's winner, Sandeep is never going to be an easy man to beat on the tennis court as Sam would possibly be willing to testify! But winning this league is also about scheduling skills and Sam showed he had these as well as winning ways on the court. With four victories, all in straight sets, against that one loss to Sandeep, Sam was just able to overtake Sandeep on points. Well done Sam - a very worthy champion.

GROUP TWO
Winner: Michael Worobec

When Michael emailed us after his victory against Ergian he told us "I'd like to say it was a case of experience triumphing over youth, but in the end it was just good old (or middle-aged) luck coming to my rescue!". And maybe it was, but sadly Michael's luck then ran out and he was forced to withdraw from the round after injuring his Achilles. But - and luck hasn't anything to do with this - Michael had already done enough hard tennis work to ensure that he would be hard to catch. Andrew got very close, scheduling his matches well and picking up bonus points, and he ends up equal on points with Michael. But as Michael won their head-to head, it is Michael who claims the Group Two Honours. Well done - and we are all wishing you a speedy recovery.

The mid point for bonus points and a FREE tube of tennis balls is Sunday 27th February 2011.
