We really hope you have enjoyed playing in this winter's combined Bush Hill and Broomfield Park round - perhaps you could let us know how combining the leagues has worked for you? We may well run one more combined round before the summer rush begins!
Looking at the scores and matches played it looks to have been an exciting round. In Group Two in particular there was a real battle with the top players completing all their matches!
Thank you all for supporting the league. We are, as ever, very grateful for the hard work you put in scheduling your matches and for your efforts on court. The league is now one of over fifty leagues running all over the country and players like you are the power house of a growing grass roots tennis movement!
The next round starts on Monday February 20 and runs until April 15.
Many thanks to all those who have already joined, and if you haven’t, but would like to, the deadline is Friday 17 February. As usual, players who have done well will be promoted (usually the winner of a group, but often the runner up too when it has been close).
And now, on to the groups...
GROUP ONE
Winner: Amer Jahangir
Runner-up in the last round, Amer went one better this time with a dominant display in the top group. He won three out of three, including a tight victory over defending champion Leopoldo, to take the group by 4 points. Leopoldo finished in second place this time, as he won the group's only other match, a tremendous three-setter against Avery. The round wasn't busy as other groups, but Amer is a deserving winner after a fine display.
