So another round comes to an end, after some great matches.

Thank you all for supporting the league. We are very grateful for the hard work you put in scheduling your matches and for your efforts on court.

GROUP ONE

Winner: Albert Costas

A really competitive round ends with a close battle at the top. Albert takes the title by just a single point from Gabor, after winning all 4 of his matches. He was made to work particularly hard against Aidan, and had to come from a set down to beat Gabor - a fitting way to decide the group. Gabor was involved in another great three-setter, beating Aidan after losing the first set, while Alvaro finished in third place after winning both of his matches. Alex edged past Robin in three gruelling sets, and Robin wrote in to us about this:

"Alex won the first set 6-0 (he's vastly improved over the summer and I was left dumbfounded at the other end of the court) and I had stern words with myself and took the second 6-4. The third stuck at 4-4 for a long time, with endless deuces and both of us playing it safe and feeling the pressure. Then it quickly ramped up to 6-6, and Alex kept his head to win the tie-break 7-4, leaving me to limp my way through the rest of the Sunday. Great match!"
With so many entertaining matches in this round, we hope to see you all back for next time, and well done again to Albert on a fine performance.
